Origins

This blog essentially came about from a chance meeting with some outgoing mothers at a local taqueria in the creator's hometown of Austin, Texas. After coaching one of the mothers on the pronunciation of the phrase "Carne Guisada," they all began to amicably converse.

One of the mothers' infants had entered a particularly tactile phase and was fun to play with, and we quickly saw the opportunity – To pioneer in the field of baby high fives. After testing out the baby high five techniques, we repeated the process for the purposes of photography. Upon discovering this particularly bemusing result, we joked about starting a blog.

Then, we started a blog!

Our Mission

Our mission is simple – To advance the art of the baby high five, to document it for sharing its simple pleasure with the world, and to spread the joy of this most excellent of gestures far and wide.

So, if an unusually coiffed young man smiles at you and your child, and then attempts to take a picture of himself giving your youngster a high-five, he's not a creep – He just wants to give your child a head start in this world, the edge that only a gift for the High Five can give.
